Customized Software Solutions!

I am developing software for very specific customer requirements. My systems are workflow-oriented and cover the entire value creation chain. They are team-based, so that all employees can use them at the same time. They are also web-based, so that all employees and managers, within and outside the company (e.g. in teleworking or at the customer site), are always kept up to date.

An overview of my current projects:

The assignment for my biggest project to date was given for the DACH region 10 years ago. After several expansions, it is now running in the German and English languages throughout Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Africa (see Fig. 1 project). The number of users has quintupled from the number originally planned for. With this software, the workflow was sped up by more than 100 percent and the value of goods saved by the system adds up to several million euros.

  • Customer Reaction system for an international manufacturing company:
This included the systematic care and all around service for business customers, the complaint handling on site by account managers or salespeople, the automatic initiation for each step of work and email notifications to those in charge, statistical analysis in order to recognize trends and for product improvement, and the taking into account of country-specific and regional characteristics.
Benefits: Acceleration of complaints processing, cost savings through the reuse of perishable goods, and a strong improvement in customer satisfaction.

I designed another big software project originally for Western Europe. Meanwhile, it runs as version 22 in approximately 50 countries in Europe, America, Africa, Asia and Australia (see Fig. 2 project) in German, English, and Chinese. It works with Imperial and Metric units. The number of users has increased 1000 percent from what was originally planned. With automated processes, the customer could halve their development times.

  • Product development monitoring for a chemical company: This included defining pilot customers for the development and introduction of new products in the marketplace, the systematic recording of results by local specialists, sending automatic feedback to the development laboratory, the automatic processing of data for product development, and the generation of evaluations as well as reports.
Benefits: The acceleration of product development, the safeguarding of the project overview by running  thousands simultaneous tests, as well as the systematic collection and analysis of data, which could then be immediately used as a foundation for taking action.

My Millenium project, conceived in 1999 and in use since 2001 was originally desired by management as a monitoring tool, but soon after it also impressed the staff. This was because the high level of automation dispenced with annoying administrative and documentation activities. Currently, 200 people can simultaneously work with it.

  • Customer management and sales management for an international trading company:
This included the systematic collection and processing of customer data on site, customer reviews, the management of the sales force, the planning of visits, the automatic generation of visit reports, the statistical analyzes for systematic pricing, and price approval by the finance manager.
Benefits: The improvement of customer service, increased customer satisfaction, and higher efficiency.

Other interesting projects:

  • Production control for a metalworking production operation:
This included order management, production planning and scheduling, quantity planning, production planning and control of the amounts of stored goods as well as the management of the warehouse.
Benefits: The automation of planning, the reduction of scrap, and the minimizing of inventory levels.

  • Product configurator for the construction industry:
This was a planning tool for field staff and clients allowing  for the individualized configuration and visualization of a product for construction projects. It also included automatic quoting, pricing and producing order lists on site, while taking limitations into account.
Benefits: improved counseling, an increase in the number of contracts, as well as the acceleration of quoting and ordering.

  • Research Monitoring for a Health Organization:
This included the easy and fast recording of medical test results online from the doctor's practice, systematic data processing, the automatic creation of reports and statistics for scientific evaluation, an automatic system for obtaining clearance from and billing the health insurance institution, as well as encrypted data transmission.
Benefits: Ensuring data quality, reducing administrative work, speeding up insurance clearance, data quality improvement, and the protection of patient data.
